MeddLinks is a community resource to gather health and medical articles from across the world via the web and provide the community easy access to them. Through a user community of people who are interested in these fields submitting articles, MeddLinks aims to become the first stop for anyone who wants to learn what is happening in the world. In the future MeddLinks will be an archive people can search on health related issues.
MeddLinks is a web site that allows you to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be promoted, based on popularity, to the main page. When a user submits a news article it will be placed in the "unpublished" area until it gains sufficient votes to be promoted to the main page.
When an article is submitted it is added to 'New Stories'. When this article gets voted upon by other users, it will be moved to the 'Popular' list. Once an article reaches a certain number of votes it will be promoted to the front page where all users coming to the website will see it. The front page is constantly changing due to the democratic process of voting on articles. As more articles are promoted to the front page other articles will be "pushed down", so when first arriving at MeddLinks a user will see the most recent popular articles.
Users can also comment on whether they feel the contents of the article are fair, good information or simply dis-information. We make an effort to monitor the articles for "spam" articles that don't have any relevance to the site or contain blatant dis-information, but some do get through. This is the power of the commenting and voting systems. If an article is not relevant or is clearly dis-information then users are encouraged to not vote for the article and leave a comment explaining why it is a bad article. If an article is relevant then users are encouraged to vote for and comment on the article.

You vote for a story by selecting the 'vote' text on the left hand side of the story entry. You vote is immediately added to the vote count for that story.
You can submit a link to a website, movie or any online document like a PDF, word document, presentation or any other standard online resource. Basically, if you can create a bookmark out of it then you can submit it. However, content that is password protected will not be able to be seen by our server (we don't know your password for the linked-to site!), so please be mindful of the links you submit.
